Everybody knows Cinco de Mayo is fiesta time, but just in case you don't remember why: On May 5, 1862, 4,000 Mexican soldiers defeated a French-led force of 8,000 at Puebla, Mexico, 100 miles east of Mexico City.

As usual, the family drove up from So. Ca to join in on the festivities. This year, Kyra and Alysia danced with their Ballet Folklorico group in Windsor at the Town Green. It was great to have my Mom, Dad and Nana see the girls perform. My dad got a bit weepy watching them. :)

Alysia performed like a superstar. I teased her that I was going to shout out during her dance to keep her arms up. As you can see, no shouting was necessary. :)

After the performance in Windsor, we came home and sang Happy Birthday to Kyra and enjoyed the yummy cake Grandma made.
