Exhausted!

Did you know that it is very hard to prepare to leave a job that you have been working at for over 9 years?? Well, it is. My plan was to be done now, however, I should have started preparing for this departure 6 months ago. So now, I am attempting to do two jobs at once AND run the girls around to their various activities. I drag around a little red suitcase back and forth filled with files and forms to organize at work and home. We finally selected the candidate that will be taking my place temporarily while I decide if this job change is good for me and my family. It is an emotional departure and not an easy on to decide. I love West County Community Services. I am torn about my decision. Change is not easy for me. WCCS has been my security blanket since I first moved up here for Kent. It was the first and only job I applied for when I considered moving here. They have grown with me in my young adult years and have given me the freedom and flexibility to create programs and be bossy! :) They have been gracious enough to grant me a leave of absence while I explore another opportunity.

Speaking of that opportunity, I have gone back to work for the cheer company that I loved so much, so many years ago. For most of the 90's I directed camps and coordinated special events for Universal Cheerleaders Association. I retired after meeting Kent and having a family. I still kept in contact over the years by doing a few special events. This past year, I worked some major events in Florida and apparently opened up an opportunity to return in a new capacity. I will be doing coordinating camp schedules and uniform sales appointment for Sonoma, Napa, Solano and Marin Counties. I will be able to work from home and that was the nice clincher for me. Of course, there will be some travel for training and special events occasionally and that is where the question of "is this right for our family?" will come in to play. Maybe, Maybe not.

In the meantime, I have been bombarded with uniform samples, brochures and pom poms. Lots of organizing to do for the busy months coming this spring.
